About
The Valley Community Outreach Corp., d/b/a the Valley Youth Center, is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation providing social, recreational, educational, and community service opportunities for children and youth as well as for community groups. Our corporation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes. We primarily serve children living in Lower Moreland Township and Bryn Athyn.
Located in the lower level of the HV library, the 2100 sq ft VYC serves as a safe haven for the students of the community to meet with their friends and classmates for recreational, social, and community outreach activities.
The center also provides an opportunity for older students in grades 7-12 to earn volunteer community service hours and interact with adult board members and incoming students. This unique volunteer opportunity helps students to learn valuable leadership qualities and management skills. These responsible students that live in our community are interviewed and trained to become positive role models for the younger children at the Center.
The center serves as a positive place both for younger students to have fun and for older students to build their college resumes. This warm, friendly, and centrally located facility makes our community unique. The center is more than a building, says President Denise Kuritz, "it's the heart of the community".
